Well I got it sorted out! Seeming as I signed up as a "Guest" I didn't actually receive a confirmation email xD I'm TundraFox by the way. My little character is a Dude. He looks quite menacing... '-' It wouldn't start for some reason.... Downloading the error patch. It's downloading very slowly :/ This is what makes the game so realistic, the fact that you have to track the animal, through tracks, droppings and other means. I simply can't wait for it to finish so I can start! Update: 28% complete.... *Yawns* :P |

Nice! I added you as a friend. It can take a while for it to install initially due to how many updates and patches need to be downloaded, but after that it only takes a second for the game to open. By the way, look forward to seeing the main menu! It absolutely blew me away the first time I saw it. Whoever composed the music is now one of my top ten life heroes, seriously. |

43% >.< I'm not entirely sure how well it will work on my laptop, but it's worth a try. Probably a bit laggy, but I'm sure I'll make do. So how long does it take on average to actually find any sign of an animal? I know tracking it takes a long time, and getting the perfect shot, even longer. How long does it take you on average? |

I just downloaded and installed the game and I've already finished the two tutorials :) I'm trying to find a deer now, but the only animal I've seen so far is some kind of duck :P |

70%! Just so I know I'm doing it right... It's meant to install, and then it comes up with the launcher page, and once it's finished downloading, the game works? It is working alright for me, is it meant to download the launcher? '-' Edit: Great, it's refusing to run. Followed the guide and installed the programs it says, but still nothing... You have to launch the game from the website, so if the updates/patches have finished installing, then you need to go to the website and log in to your account, then select the "Hunt Now" tab (you can't miss it, it's a giant yellow button). Then you can launch the game from that page. When you click "start" to begin the hunt, the launcher will be brough up and should look like this with a start button in the bottom corner: Posted Image As for lagging on your laptop, you can change the graphic settings if it's too much for your computer to handle. I believe you can do that through the launcher by clicking the little gear or arrow in the top right corner. Finding the tracks of an animal actually isn't very hard nor does it take very long; my strategy is to just walk in a random direction until I find something, usually travelling uphill because if you're on higher ground as compared to the animal then it'll be much easier to see them without foliage or the land obstructing your view. The trick to a successful hunt is to make sure you spot the animal before it spots you, so your vantage point is definitely something to keep in mind. @Thom: Haha, awesome! I'm so glad you guys are so interested in the game and that I helped to introduce it to you. And the duck you saw was probably a pheasant :P The animals can be extremely hard to spot, so just make sure to keep your eyes absolutely peeled for any signs of movement. If you've been tracking deer for a while but haven't come across any yet, then you probably ended up spooking them without even seeing them. My tactic is to start walking slower as soon as I come across a track, and as I progress along the trail and the HunterMate tells me i'm getting closer, I gradually keep lowerering my stance so i'm less likely to spook the creature. The lower your stance, the less chance there is of the animal spotting you. If you try this i'm sure it'll help you find something :) |

Yes, I click the 'Start' button at the bottom of that page TZT, then it looks like its going to load, then minimizes it, and says on that page, something like, please come back soon. :/ |

LOL. Canis, can you take a screenshot of what you're talking about? I might be able to help if I can see exactly what's happening. |

Wrong time Zooty! I uninstalled it :( I'm going to try again, but it may not meet the system requirements (I'm going to try it again when I get my actual laptop). Basically, I would click "Go Hunting" and select my area. Then it would bring up the launcher. I would click Start. Then my screen would bring up the game, but you can only see black. It would pause, and then minimize it, and bring up the launcher saying "Please come hunting again soon" PS: I apologize for going so off topic! Maybe we should take this to PMing |
